Gregorian Chant over Easter

The Office of Tenebræ will be chanted by the St Margaret Schola at 10.00 a.m. on the mornings of Maundy Thursday (5 April), Good Friday (6 April) and Holy Saturday (7 April).  This will take place at the same location as all the other Holy Week and Easter celebrations in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite, namely St Andrew's Church, 77 Ravelston Road, Edinburgh EH4 3DS.

Tenebræ consists of the Offices of Matins (Vigils) and Lauds, which on the three days of the Triduum are sung together, without a break. Office booklets will be available that contain all the texts in both Latin and English.

Tenebræ will be chanted according to the 1961 Roman Breviary, the other Holy Week and Easter celebrations all in accordance with the Extraordinary Form (1962 Missal) - in Latin with Gregorian Chant.  The celebrant will be Fr John Emerson FSSP.
